May 23, 2019 -- As Monticello and Roxboro middle schools prepare to move back to their renovated campuses this summer, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District has announced each school’s leadership team for next school year.

The Monticello leadership team will remain unchanged with principal Jeff Johnston and assistant principal Brigitte Pronty. Dr. Johnston has served as Monticello’s principal for each of the past two school years, while Ms. Pronty joined the team last fall after three years as the principal at Oxford Elementary School.

“Ms. Pronty and I are excited to be a part of the Monticello family and look forward to working with our students and community,” said Dr. Johnston. “Our motto is ‘Monticello - Where learners become leaders.' We are committed to making that vision a reality each and every day.”

Roxboro Middle School will be led by principal Rachael Coleman and assistant principal Denise Lackey.  Mrs. Coleman is currently the Campus Administrator at Heights Middle School, and prior to that served as principal at Noble Elementary School for eight years.

Ms. Lackey returns to Roxboro where she spent a combined 12 years as a teacher, program specialist, assistant principal, and principal. This past school year, Ms. Lackey led the Heights Middle School Success Academy at the Delisle Options Center.

“I am delighted to serve the Roxboro Middle School community as the instructional leader,” said Mrs. Coleman. “This past year I have had the pleasure of building relationships with the students, staff, and parents. I am looking forward to working together to continue our tradition of high expectations and academic excellence.”

Current Roxboro principal Patrick McNichols will join the Student Services team in central office as Coordinator of Student Services next school year. Current Roxboro assistant principal Racquel Armstrong is taking a professional study leave beginning in the fall.

The Monticello and Roxboro school communities have spent the past two school years combined at the Wiley Campus while their buildings have been renovated. The construction work is expected to be completed this summer and ready in time for staff and students to move into the buildings in August.
