Aug. 21, 2019 -- Heights alum Vant Lammers ('07) placed first in his age group and second overall in the mens division of the Triathlon 2019 National Olympic-Distance Age Group Championship on August 10 at Edgewater Park. The Olympic distances are 1500 meter swim, 40 kilometers (25 miles) bike ride and a 10 kilometers run.
About 1300 men and 1000 women qualified to compete in the event.
Vant competes in the 30-34 age group. He is an IT analyst for Epic, a healthcare electronic medical records company in Madison WI.
When he was a student at Heights High, he was a member of the cross country and track team, coached by Claude Holland and Mary Watson.
