The Browns announced their initial practice squad on Sunday, which includes Heights graduate Shelton Gibson ('13). The wide receiver was a fifth-round pick of the Eagles in 2017
and has played in 20 regular season games and four postseason games, including SuperBowl LII.
Gibson graduated from Heights after a stellar career on the gridiron and on the track. He played three seasons as a wide receiver for Heights and finished with 36 total touchdowns. He was one of the most sought-after recruits in 2013, ultimately landing with the Mountaineers
Gibson sat out his first season at West Virginia University as a redshirt and then played three seasons before leaving early for the NFL Draft. He finished his college career with 84 receptions for 1,898 yards and 17 touchdowns, earning first team All-Big 12 honors as a senior.
During his time in the CH-UH school district, Gibson attended Boulevard Elementary and Roxboro Middle.
