May 7, 2018 -- The 10 newest members of the Cleveland Heights High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame were formally inducted on Friday evening.

The Heights Schools Foundation hosted the induction ceremony in the Heights High School auditorium. Each inductee was introduced by a current student and then provided remarks before the audience of several hundred supporters on hand.

Nine of the 10 inductees were present for the ceremony, and Christopher Young (‘90) sent his remarks via video from San Francisco.

The students who introduced the inductees were part of the group Image Makers, which chooses the honorees each year. The student presenters and the honorees they introduced were:

The induction ceremony was followed by a private dinner in the Heights High cafeteria and then a public gathering at The Wine Spot.

About the CHHS Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame
In its 38th year in 2018, the Cleveland Heights High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame honors individuals for their outstanding accomplishments and service to their community. Since 1981, a total of 391 Heights High graduates have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame was created as a way for Heights to honor the accomplishments of its alumni while giving current students examples of what they can accomplish in life, hearing from adults who sat in the same seats and walked the same halls as they do. With more than 50,000 graduates across the globe, our students have an impressive and diverse list of alumni from whom to seek inspiration.

Each year, nominations are accepted from alumni and the general public. A Heights Schools Foundation (formerly the CHHS Alumni Foundation) committee reviews applications for completeness and recommends a pool of candidates to the Heights High student group, Image Makers. The students review applicants without identifying information and select up to 10 applicants to honor.
