CTE Audio and Video Classes Create Video about Field Trip
February 20, 2020 -- The Audio Engineering and Digital Video Production programs at Heights High School collaborated on a two-site field trip in November 2019. The field trip provided students with opportunities to experience the media industry up close and personal.
Nearly 30 students from both Career Technical Education (CTE) programs toured the Ohio Media School in Valley View, Ohio and also WOIO & WUAB television stations in Cleveland on November 18.
Digital Video Production student Tahir El produced a video about the field trip.
"It was great to see that students appreciated the field trip which made me proud of the film that I made," said Heights High junior Tahir El. "I could even see the same skills that I’m learning in video production skills through the Ohio Media School and at WOIO-TV."
Both audio engineering and digital video production are two-year programs at Cleveland Heights High School.
Cynthia Booker is the video production teacher and Mark Bennekamper teaches audio engineering. Students in both programs can earn college credit and industry credentials.
Heights High School is part of a five-school Career Technical Educational consortium that also includes Bedford Heights, Maple Heights, Shaker Heights and Warrensville Heights High schools.
