Jan. 27, 2020 -- Heights High senior Kristen Lyons was part of the ensemble cast of Disney’s Frozen Jr. that won Best in Music at the recent 2020 Junior Theater Festival competition in Atlanta, Georgia. Kristen, who played the role of Elsa, performed with the Mercury Theater Company’s Junior Company and was singled out – twice! – as one of five high school students recognized for outstanding performances in song and dance.
Kristen, who also played Lola in Heights High’s fall musical Damn Yankees, was named one of two “Broadway All Stars” for her show-stopping performance in Frozen Jr. She was also honored for excellence in dance. In addition to the singing and performing she does outside of school, Kristen is a member of Heights High’s Singers, and Women’s Barbershop. She plans to study musical theater after graduation in the spring.
