April 29, 2019 -- This coming fall,
a pilot program will launch at Heights High allowing high school students in-person access to MetroHealth medical professionals two days per month in a clinic located at the school. The program was designed to help eliminate barriers to receiving health care.
Ahead of the clinic’s opening, we ask that parents/caregivers, community members, students and staff take a survey that will help us develop a comprehensive needs assessment and utilize this new resource as efficiently as possible. The deadline to take the survey is
Monday, May 13. Your responses will remain completely anonymous.
About the clinic: Payments for individual services will be billed to the insurer and MetroHealth staff will assist those without insurance in applying for coverage.
The clinic will serve as a convenient option for students who currently have a primary care provider/pediatrician, as well as those who do not. It is not intended to replace a provider.
MetroHealth’s School Health Program has proven successful in 13 Cleveland Metropolitan high schools including John Adams, Lincoln-West and Garrett Morgan.
