Four Recent Cases of COVID-19 - November 23, 2020

Nov. 23, 2020 -- Since Friday, the District has learned of four confirmed cases of COVID-19 in school employees.

Two of the employees are Gearity Elementary School staff members. One staff member was last in the Gearity building on Tuesday, November 17. Cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include the staff lounge, music room, and two classrooms, took place Friday afternoon.

The second staff member was last in the Gearity building on Wednesday, November 11. Cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include the main office, work room, cafeteria, and sensory room, took place Friday afternoon.

The third employee is a Right at School team member. The individual was last in the Wiley Supervision & Support Center on Friday, November 13. Cleaning and disinfecting of the Right at School spaces took place Friday afternoon.

The fourth employee is an IT staff member. The individual was last at work on November 16. Cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include spaces within Noble Elementary School, Heights High School and the Delisle Options Center, took place this weekend and this morning.

All of the employees are resting/quarantining at home.

We are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of COVID-19 investigation.

If CCBH contacts you as part of a COVID-19 investigation, please cooperate fully to ensure the safety and health of our entire community. It is also important that we show kindness and understanding to those who may be identified as a case of COVID-19 or as a close contact.
Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:

  • Wearing a face mask
  • Social distancing of at least 6 feet
  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water
  • Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available
  • Staying home when you do not feel well
  • Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly
  • Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils
  • Avoiding large gatherings of 10 or more people
