Dear Heights High families,
We are excited to kick off the 20-21 school year! Heights High will host virtual orientations from Thursday, August 28 through Tuesday, September 1. During orientation, students and families will have the opportunity to meet our amazing educators, learn about our excellent educational programs, ask questions about the classes that students will take, and build relationships. Below you will find detailed information on the orientations.
Orientations (9-12)
Orientations are an opportunity for parents to meet their grade level administrators and teachers and learn additional information about the school. The orientation is designed to allow you to navigate the orientation site to visit the classes of teachers, meet administrators, and learn about school programs. In order to attend the orientation during your assigned time block (below), take the following steps:
Watch the short Welcome Video from Principal Byron Hopkins for instructions on accessing the Google Meets.
Visit the Heights High Orientation site to access Google meets class links with teachers for the orientation at your assigned time. All links will be live once the orientation begins.
Visit your child’s course pages under Course Information to find videos and the Google Meet links with teachers.
Each grade level team will also host Google Meets and videos you can watch. These are available under the 9th Grade Info, 10th Grade info, 11th Grade Info, and 12th Grade Info sections.
Below are the times that families should participate in the orientations. You may attend at any time within your assigned block.

Freshman Student Orientation (Class of 2024) - 9th Grade Students Only
While freshman parents are engaged in orientation, we will have a separate orientation for freshman students. The freshman orientation will take place through the 9th-grade website on August 28, 31, and September 1 for freshman students only. Students should click on the 9th Grade Website link to find dates and times. Links will be live beginning August 28.
New Student Orientation - for new 10th-12th grade students
While parents of new students are engaged in our parent orientations, we will also have a separate orientation for new students in grades 10-12. The new student orientation will occur tomorrow, August 28 from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. and can be found on the Heights High Orientation site. Links will be live prior to the start of the orientation.
Curriculum Night
Curriculum Night will take place on Monday, August 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Parents and scholars should expect a class syllabus from teachers per course. The schedule and information about curriculum night can be found here.
