Staff Member Tests Positive For COVID-19

November 5, 2020

This afternoon, the District learned of a recent confirmed case of COVID-19 in a Roxboro Elementary School staff member. This staff member was last in the Roxboro school building on October 30 and has not been working in-person with students. The individual is experiencing mild symptoms and is resting at home. Cleaning and disinfecting of the entire school building using the Clorox 360 electrostatic sprayer will take place tonight.

We are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of COVID-19 investigation.

If CCBH contacts you as part of a COVID-19 investigation, please cooperate fully to ensure the safety and health of our entire community. It is also important that we show kindness and understanding to those who may be identified as a case of COVID-19 or as a close contact.

Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:
  • Wearing a face mask
  • Social distancing of at least 6 feet
  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water
  • Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available
  • Staying home when you do not feel well
  • Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly
  • Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils
  • Avoiding large gatherings of 10 or more people
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Paul Lombardo, Assistant Superintendent of HR & Operations, at [email protected]/216-320-2030 or the Cuyahoga County Health Department at 216-201-2000. Thank you for helping to keep people safe and to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and school.
