Information for Families regarding attendance

Scholars are expected to attend school daily for their Synchronous and Asynchronous periods. Teachers will capture attendance on Asynchronous days through a variety of formats, based on evidence of participation with consistent and clear expectations for students. Evidence of participation may include, but is not limited to:

  • Daily logins to learning management systems. (Ex., Google Classroom)

  • Daily interactions with the teacher.

      • Examples of daily interactions between teachers and students include, but are not limited to: messages, emails, telephone calls, video chats, or other formats that enable teachers to engage with students.

  • Assignment completion within the timelines established by the teacher.

All activities on Asynchronous Days are aligned to academic standards and scholar participation is not optional.

Take a look at this document to learn more about the differences between synchronous and asynchronous learning.
