July 29, 2024
Dear CH-UH Families,
I’m writing to provide you with updates on our online learning options for the 2024-2025 school year.
Students in grades 9-12
Tiger Virtual Academy (TVA) will no longer exist as a separate school within CH-UH. Instead of enrolling in TVA, students in grades 9-12 who wish to attend school fully online will have that opportunity through Cleveland Heights High School credit flex.
Below are the steps that students in grades 9-12 should take if they wish to attend school fully online in the 24-25 school year:
Complete the online credit flex application found here by August 15, 2024.
Attend the CHHS credit flex orientation on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm (a Google Meet link will be provided once the student’s credit flex application has been approved).
Begin completing coursework according to the approved credit flex plan starting on the first day of school, August 21, 2024.
Once the student completed all required coursework, the final credit flex grade will be posted to the student transcript.
Important information about credit flex:
Classes will be added to the student’s schedule in Infinite Campus and will include the Credit Flex (CF) and the corresponding course number.
Students will work to complete their online coursework following the timeframe and conditions outlined in their credit flexibility application.
Students will have access to their Teacher of Record, who will communicate with students via email and post a schedule for virtual office hours.
Students in grades 6-8
Middle school students who ended the 2023-2024 school year enrolled in TVA have the option to continue attending school online through the Ohio Online program offered by the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio. Families of these students will have an opportunity to work with the district on the next steps. Middle school students who were not enrolled in TVA for the 2023-2024 school year will attend school in person for the 24-25 school year at their assigned building.
If a student was enrolled in Tiger Virtual Academy for the 2023-2024 school year and plans to attend school in person, no further action is required, and they will be automatically enrolled in their assigned building.
If you have questions, please contact Robert Swaggard, Director of College and Career Readiness, at [email protected] or 216-320-2005.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Liz Kirby
