Nov. 20, 2024 -- Monticello Middle School staff recently welcomed their families to Title 1’s Annual Meeting and Family Literacy Night. Family Literacy Night allows parents to visit the school, meet with teachers, and collaborate on developing their child’s reading and writing skills at home. 

On October 24, families gathered in the gym. They socialized with teachers, school staff, and other families while enjoying a walking taco bar, literacy-based games, crafts, a book giveaway, and a gift card raffle. Special thanks to Title 1 Lead Teacher Mikia Searcy for coordinating the event, Monticello’s PTA, and the other community partners Reaching Heights, MetroHealth, Noble Library, Open Doors Academy, Communities in Schools, Monticello PTA,  AVID, Student Council, Monticello Leading Ladies, SAY: Social Advocates for Youth, and Power of the Pen for assisting in making the night a success.
