Coat Distribution & Family Engagement Event at HFRC January 30

Jan. 10, 2024 -- We are pleased to announce that thanks to a new partnership with Operation Warm, the District will be able to distribute approximately 240 brand new winter coats to CH-UH students on Thursday, January 30 at the Heights Family Resource Center. Coat sizes range from youth 7/8 to adult extra large. Distribution will be on a first come, first served basis, and you do not need to register in advance or provide any documents to receive a coat. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the coat distribution will be from 4:30-6 p.m.

After the coat distribution, all CH-UH families are invited to attend a workshop led by Arts Impact starting at 6 p.m. at the Heights Family Resource Center. The focus of this workshop, titled “Managing Big Emotions,” will be on coping mechanisms kids and adults can use to handle intense feelings. Participants will be led through fun interactive activities, including creating a hands-on art project. The program is most appropriate for grades 3-5, but all students are welcome. Dinner and registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Advanced registration is strongly suggested due to space and materials being limited; please register here. You do not need to attend the coat distribution to attend the workshop.

If your child is in need of a coat now or you are unable to attend the January 30 event, please call 216-320-NEED (6333) or email [email protected]. If there are coats left over on January 30, the HFRC team will work with school social workers to distribute them as needed.

The Heights Family Resource Center is located inside the Delisle Options Center, 14780 Superior Road in Cleveland Heights.
