Apr. 13, 2021 -- Yesterday afternoon, the District learned of a recent confirmed case of COVID-19 in a Monticello Middle School student. The student had been learning remotely but was briefly in the building on Friday, April 9 after school. Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the student occupied, which include the 6th grade hallway on the 1st and 2nd floor and the half-floor hallway by art and vocal music, took place yesterday afternoon. The individual is currently resting at home. No close contacts (staff or students) have been identified.
If CCBH should ever contact you as part of a COVID-19 investigation, please cooperate fully to ensure the safety and health of our entire community. It is also important that we show kindness and understanding to those who may be identified as a case of COVID-19 or as a close contact.
Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:
- Wearing a face mask
- Social distancing
- Frequent hand washing with soap and water
- Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available
- Staying home when you do not feel well
- Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly
- Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils
- Avoiding large gatherings of 10 or more people
