Apr. 9, 2021 -- Early this morning, the District learned of a recent confirmed case of COVID-19 in a Roxboro Elementary School employee. The staff member was last in the Rox El building on Tuesday, April 6. Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include the office, the side entrance to the building, and the cafeteria, occurred earlier this morning. The individual is currently resting at home. No close contacts (staff or students) have been identified.
This afternoon, the District learned of a recent confirmed case of COVID-19 in a Roxboro Middle School employee. The staff member was last in the Rox Mid building on Thursday, April 8. Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include two offices, occurred earlier this afternoon. The individual is currently resting at home. No students have been identified as close contacts.
Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:
- Wearing a face mask
- Social distancing
- Frequent hand washing with soap and water
- Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available
- Staying home when you do not feel well
- Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly
- Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils
- Avoiding large gatherings of 10 or more people
