May 21, 2021 -- The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District and Heights Libraries are working together this summer to encourage all families to have fun reading.
The
CH-UH Summer Reading Page contains suggested book lists, logs, and ways to track progress through the Heights Libraries Beanstack for grades PreK-12 and those enrolled in specific courses at the high school.
Register for the Heights Libraries summer reading program through
Beanstack and stop by one of the branches for a registration prize. Once you reach the halfway point, drop by again to select a prize book (to keep!) and your Ben & Jerry’s ice cream voucher, while supplies last. As you read and participate in the activities, you’ll earn raffle tickets for the chance to win prizes, like gift cards to local bookstores, a hoverboard, and prize packs for teens, including a digital drawing tablet.
You can also view the available activities, track your reading, write book reviews, and more through Beanstack. Magazines, comic books, picture books, eBooks, audiobooks - if you read or listened to it, it counts! If you don’t already have a Beanstack account, create one through
heightslibrary.beanstack.org.
There are a few ways to access ebooks at no cost. The
Open eBook app gives students access to a vast collection of ebooks through their Clever account. The Heights Libraries also has a way to access ebooks; follow the directions
here. Students in grades K-3 can continue to use RazKids through Clever to find ebooks.
