CH-UH Announces First Holiday Card Contest

Nov. 2, 2021 -- Tiger Nation students from preschool through 12th grade are encouraged to participate in the first-ever CH-UH Holiday Card Contest! Any student who is currently enrolled in CH-UH is eligible to participate.

The winning artwork will be featured as the cover of the 2021 CH-UH Holiday Card. The student’s name, grade and school will be noted on the card. The top 3 winners will be recognized at a Board of Education meeting and receive a $50 cash prize from the Heights Schools Foundation. One of the winning cards will be selected by the Superintendent for the holiday card and will be available for purchase by the community for a limited time. Proceeds will benefit arts education in CH-UH.

Artwork Theme: Happy Holidays/Season’s Greetings
Submissions should reflect holiday spirited or winter themes. Artwork may not reference or contain images related to specific religious holidays/religions.

Deadline for Entries
All entries must be received by Thursday, November 11. One entry per student.

Submission of Artwork
Artwork can be submitted one of 3 ways:

  • Uploaded through this Google Form
  • Through the student’s art teacher
  • Mail addressed to:
  • CH-UH Communications Department

Design Specifications
The final card size will be 5 inches tall x 7 inches wide. Any artwork smaller than this size cannot be considered. The artwork may be larger, but will be scaled to fit these final dimensions. The winning artwork may be modified for production purposes. Artwork should not smear/smudge and must be dry.

Copyright Law
Any artwork that depicts copyrighted images cannot be considered. For example, no submissions depicting characters from television shows, movies, video games, or books will be accepted. All submissions must be original ideas and created entirely by the student.

Selecting Winning Artwork
A panel of CH-UH team members will narrow down the top submissions and the Superintendent will select her printed artwork from these selections.

Additionally, students, parents, staff and community members will have a chance to vote on a number of submissions from November 15 & 16. That Community Choice winner will receive a Tiger Nation swag bag and recognition at a Board of Education meeting. Stay tuned to CH-UH social media pages and the website for updates.

Reproduction Rights
The CH-UH City School District will retain all reproduction rights to submitted artwork with credit given to the artist. By submission, artists agree to assign all copyrights for the artwork to the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District. Entries must be original in concept and work and not violate any artist or copyright laws.
