Summer Reading Lists, Resources for 2023

June 5, 2023 -- Summer is the perfect time for all students in grades K-12 to choose a book, manga, comic book, or audiobook to read or listen to. Everything counts!

The CH-UH City School District and Heights Libraries are working together to encourage all families to read. Join the Summer Reading Kick-off event on June 7 at the Coventry Peace Park at 6 p.m. When you enroll in the Heights Libraries summer reading program (Adventure Awaits), and read, you receive a book to own. As you continue to read, you can earn raffle tickets and become eligible for great prizes! There are also exciting activities to participate in all summer long.

Remember, any kind of reading counts! Here are ways to access ebooks at no cost:
  • The Heights Libraries offers access to ebooks; follow the directions here.
  • Hoopla is another resource for ebooks; follow the directions here.
  • The app Open eBooks has access, also. Try using this resource from INFOhio to explore a variety of topics appropriate for elementary aged students.
  • Students in grades K-3 can continue to use RazKids through Clever to find ebooks.
  • Finally, check out this article from GreatSchools.org which includes specific ways to continue learning throughout the summer.

Check out the Summer Reading Page for more details to support students in grades K-12 and those enrolled in specific courses at the high school.
