May 13, 2022 -- Cleveland Heights-University Heights alumnus Tyreke Smith was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks during the 2022 NFL Draft. Tremendous recognition is given to the Tiger Nation staff for having a hand in preparing Tyreke for the next level of his professional career. 

Heights High Sports Management instructor and coach Gary Wroblewski said, "I was honored to have him in my Sports Management class during his Heights High years. He has had a great college career with the wonderful support from both his mom and dad, Heights High's head football coach Mac Stephens, and the rest of his family. His professional attitude, both on and off of the field at The Ohio State University, has made a huge difference in his successful goals met in his life."

Tyreke Smith was named All-Ohio Division I Co-Defensive Player of the Year and earned Defensive Player of the Year through Cleveland.com during his Heights senior year in 2017. He finished his senior year at Heights with 11 sacks, 23 tackles for loss, 22 QB pressures, 6 passes battled down, and 52 solo tackles.

During his time at The Ohio State University, Tyreke played 41 games for the Buckeyes and started 17 times between 2018-2021. He was part of 2 teams that advanced to the College Football Playoff and he graduated with a degree in Sports Industry. Read more about his time at Ohio State here.
