This contest can be a great opportunity for Chinese students since it creates a lot of passion in them for the language by being used in a creative context. I had a lot of fun doing this project and hope I can do it again in future years. “

Jayden Honaker said, "The Chinese Essay contest gave me the time to become a better writer. Over the years, I've become a really good hand-writer, and with this essay, I became much better at writing Chinese characters. With the exception of the rushed essay, it was a good experience and definitely helped me with my handwriting and recognition of Chinese words.”

Andrew Engelmann said, "It was an exciting experience to have work judged by a third party. We got to really know how skilled we were in the language we had been learning.”
