Feb. 10, 2025 -- At the monthly regular Board of Education meeting on February 4, the Superintendent and Board recognized the staff who helped keep Heights High safe during the Cedar Lee Meadowbrook fire, the Board received an update on the Monticello potential renaming process, and Chief Financial Officer Scott Gainer announced his upcoming retirement.

Regular Meeting Overview
- The District is engaged in an important and thoughtful process regarding the potential renaming of Monticello Middle School, led in partnership with consultant Dr. Gregory Hutchings. Dr. Hutchings shared an update with the Board on the community feedback received through focus groups, meetings, and a survey.
- Superintendent Kirby shared updates on the past month’s work within the five goals of the District’s Strategic Plan.
- Chief Financial Officer Scott Gainer delivered his “3 Things” report, a monthly initiative to educate the community on school funding. The 3 Things for February are:
