Bogner Named Director of Heights Career Technical Planning District

Dear Heights Community,

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the appointment of Dave Bogner as the new Director of the Heights Career Technical Planning District. Mr. Bogner’s selection follows an extensive search and rigorous interview process, where his proven leadership and strategic vision for career technical education clearly distinguished him. His experience directly aligns with the key responsibilities of our district's Director, making him an exceptional fit. 

As the principal of Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES, Ormsby Educational Center, Mr. Bogner demonstrated his ability to manage and lead comprehensive CTE programs effectively. This experience is crucial, as he oversaw 15 diverse programs across eight school districts, mirroring the collaborative nature of our planning district. His responsibility for curriculum development, data-driven instructional improvement, and the successful renovation of specialized labs (Cosmetology, Animal Science, Engineering) showcases his capacity to modernize and enhance our CTE offerings, ensuring they meet current industry standards. 

Mr. Bogner’s initiation of a CTE Summer Camp for middle school students reflects his proactive approach to early engagement and pipeline development, aligning with our strategic goals for expanding CTE awareness and participation. His proven ability to foster strong partnerships with industry and community stakeholders, evident in his work securing funds and aligning curriculum with industry needs, is essential for the continued success of the CTPD. These partnerships are vital for providing our students with relevant work-based learning opportunities and ensuring our programs remain responsive to the evolving workforce. 

Mr. Bogner’s experience in financial management, overseeing a $500,000 budget, is critical for the fiscal responsibility required of our Director. His understanding of budget development and allocation will ensure that our resources are utilized effectively to maximize student outcomes. We are confident that his leadership, strategic vision, and extensive experience will drive the Heights Career Technical Planning District towards significant innovation and success. 

Mr. Bogner begins this role officially on July 1, 2025. Please join us in welcoming Dave Bogner!
