July 14, 2016 -- Parents of CHUH CSD: Here is FEE FREE training and employment opportunities!

Enroll in the Urban League of Greater Cleveland’s Solid Opportunities for Advancement & Retention (SOAR) mandatory soft skill training program that will begin Monday, August 1, 2016 with graduation on Thursday, August 25, 2016. SOAR requires you to attend Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday’s are dedicated for all accepted participant’s to attend construction industry sessions, which will have varied times for attendance. You will also be required to pass a construction industry drug test and pass a TABE Math Skills test (8th grade) and Reading Comprehension test (7th grade).

During SOAR each participant will receive a Financial Stipend of $200/bi-weekly ($400 total for the 4-weeks you are enrolled in SOAR).

Tri-C, PAT Enrollment: During the SOAR program, it is required to participate in a Tri-C required interview session with construction industry leaders who will determine readiness and selection into Tri-C’s PAT Educational program that will begin Monday, August 29th, 2016 and conclude with graduation on Friday, October 21st, 2016. Required attendance for all classes for Monday through Friday, from 7:15am to 3:45pm (Fridays conclude at 1pm). You will also be required to take and pass a construction industry drug test while enrolled in school along with additional educational program curriculum.

There are NO FEEs required by anyone selected into SOAR and Tri-C’s PAT Educational Program!

Minimum Requirements for Enrollment into the Greater Cleveland Urban League SOAR & Tri-C, PAT Educational Program:

 

  • 18 years of age and older;
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED at start of SOAR;
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation at start of SOAR;
  • Must Pass All Drug Tests;
  • Physical Assessment (Must be able to Physically Perform Construction Work);
  • Pass TABE Math Skills (8th grade) & Reading Comprehension Test (7th grade) during SOAR.
