Charles Conwell Talks to Channel 5Cleveland.com -- Even one of the toughest boxers on the U.S. Olympic team had to show his soft side because of the overwhelming amount of love on display earlier this week as hundreds of students, faculty and local residents gathered in front of the Cleveland Heights High School temporary location in University Heights.

Charles Conwell Jr. will represent the U.S. in the Olympics this summer in Brazil from Aug. 5-21. He is the third straight Cleveland native to make the Olympic boxing team, following Terrell Gausha in 2012 and Raynell Williams in 2008.

And on this particular day, Conwell's high school and city celebrated his Olympic bid with a parade and proclamations from the school district and University Heights. The celebration was also a send off for Conwell who will graduate in a few days.
