District Committed to Safety

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is committed to providing a safe environment for its students and staff. District Policy states that when visitors enter our buildings, they are required to have a state-issued photo identification, in order to be issued a visitor pass. They must wear the visitor pass while they are in the building.

All visitors should enter the building through the main entrance. Staff and students are not permitted to open other doors for visitors. If your school does not have a security monitor, this process must be completed by the office staff.

Please email Coordinator of Safety & Security Bryan Loretz if there is a question/concern regarding the process or screening equipment.

For Open or Propped Doors, exterior doors should be unlocked or propped open only when it is necessary to perform a specific task.  At all other times, exterior doors should be closed and locked.

Our District’s See Something, Say Something Policy is also important for anyone to report anything that seems suspicious.

We thank everyone for their cooperation in this matter, as safety is our top priority.
