June 24, 2020 -- The Heights High Class of 2020, their families, and community members gathered on Lee Road to celebrate and honor the graduates on June 22 for the Senior Class Car Parade. More than 60 decorated vehicles participated with graduates and family members waving, honking, and celebrating.

The parade began at the corner of Scarborough and Lee Roads and traveled north through the Cedar Lee business district. The Cleveland Heights Police Department closed Lee Road for the parade and led the parade with an escort car.

At the end of the parade, the Stone Oven Bakery owners, Tatyana Rehn and John Emerman distributed chocolate chip cookies to all graduates. “We wanted to show our support for this class and let them know that we are very proud of them,” said Mr. Emerman.

Superintendent Elizabeth Kirby was one of the attendees, “I am so glad that we could make this happen. The class of 2020 worked hard to graduate during this historic challenge. Today is a day to publicly acknowledge and celebrate their success!”

More than 30 Heights High staff members joined the many local citizens who attended to cheer for the graduates.
