Oct. 4, 2019 -- Cleveland Clinic Children’s School-Based Health Care Mobile Unit will be visiting Gearity Elementary School for the very first time on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. The Mobile Unit, which has been visiting Oxford and Boulevard for the past several years, is part of a district-wide effort to support students more fully. Parents won’t have to miss work, or deal with transportation issues every time they have a medical question or their child has a sniffle. Most importantly, students won't have to miss a day of school.
Parents have been asked to complete an application form
allowing their child to be seen by health care professionals while at school.
The School-Based Health Care team can work with students’ regular medical
providers when appropriate.
During the October visit, the Mobile Unit will be focused on
providing flu shots and ensuring that all students are up to date on their
required immunizations, thus reducing absenteeism later in the year. School Nurse Cindy Rocco is very excited for
the opportunities students and their families have with the Mobile Unit and
hopes more Gearity parents will sign up to take advantage of it.
The Mobile Unit is currently scheduled to visit Gearity on
the following Tuesdays: October 8, 2019, December 10, 2019, February 11, 2020,
and April 14, 2020. More dates will be added as demand for the service
increases.
