Vocal Groups Win Awards
August 13, 2019 -- The 66 member Heights High A Cappella Choir was awarded a Superior rating at the May 4 Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Adjudicated Event at Highland High School. The choir qualified for the State Competition after receiving a Superior rating a the District event.

A Superior rating is the highest OMEA award that is granted at the event.

The pop a cappella group, Gold Rush, was awarded a Superior rating for a high school group and First Place overall at the May 11 Music in the Parks competition at Cedar Point. Thirteen groups from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York attended the competition.

Both of these awards are the highest award granted at the event.
