DECA Members Volunteer at Food Bank
DECA members
Nov. 21, 2019 -- Twenty-six DECA members from the CTE Business Foundations class and Marketing Management program practiced socially responsible behavior by volunteering their time at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank on November 13.

Students worked with their teacher Sarah Parker and their AT T Aspire Mentoring Academy Ambassador, Tania Thomas. The team packed more than 1,000 lunches for community programs.

As part of the National DECA Chapter Campaign project, members perform community service, create publicity for the community service event and have 75 percent of the DECA chapter participate.

Following the volunteer activity, students joined Ms. Thomas for lunch at Dewey’s Pizza on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. The lunch was the perfect opportunity to reinforce business etiquette techniques.

As a follow up activity to the volunteering, DECA members will contribute to the Student Council sponsored food drive in December.
DECA is an Association of Marketing Students, a co-curricular club for students in the Business Foundations class and/or Marketing Management program.

The Career and Technical Education program at Heights High includes 23 programs at five schools in the CTE consortium.

For more information on joining DECA, please see Mrs. Parker in room 124 at Heights High.
