December 4, 2019 -- Cleveland Heights Police Department Investigator Tyler Allen and retired Cleveland Heights Investigator Quintero Mack visited the Heights High Career Tech Criminal Justice program on November 19.

They talked to the students about their roles on the force, what brought them to their career and advised the students on how to be successful in the field of Criminal Justice. Johnnie Lemons is the Criminal Justice Program teacher.

After the presentation, Officer Allen posted a message on his Facebook page. He said that he was blessed to be able to talk to the class and that “Mr. Lemons is a phenomenal instructor and a positive asset to the Cleveland Heights community.”

He also called out the fraternities of the men. “#Alpha (Alpha Phi Alpha) and Omega Men (Omega Psi Phi) contributing positive energy in our community!!!”

Mr. Lemons invites members of the criminal justice community to speak to his students on a regular basis. “These professionals have so much to share with our students,” he said. “And, I want the students to understand the value of networking and to know about career options in this field.”

The CTE Criminal Justice Program is a two-year program for juniors and seniors. Students attend the class for two periods each day and are prepared to take several certification tests at the end of their senior year. Most students in the program earn college credits and several certifications, including the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy certification.
