Dec. 22, 2020 -- Gearity Professional Development School teacher Amanda Blazetic has been named the University Heights Educator of the Year.
As an intervention specialist, Amanda is a tireless advocate for her students with multiple disabilities. She raised over $1,000 to purchase necessities for students and their families. Amanda also volunteers at every school-sponsored food distribution event.
"Tiger Nation is lucky to have her, and she is a shining star and wonderful representation of our district," said Superintendent Elizabeth Kirby.
At its annual Civic Awards, the City of University Heights honors local residents, employees, leaders and volunteers who are making a difference in the community.
