Student Supervision & Support Interest Survey - Grades K-5
September 12, 2020

Dear Elementary School Families,

The CH-UH City School District is working with our before and after care provider, Right at School, to offer supervision and support during online learning hours for grades K-5 at our Wiley campus (2181 Miramar Boulevard, University Heights). The District is working with Right at School to secure all of the necessary licensing, which we expect to be finalized in the next week.

In this program, adults will supervise children as they engage in online learning during the day. It is not a tutoring program, but a support program for families. Staff will ensure that students follow social distancing guidelines, wear their masks, and can access their virtual learning platforms. It will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F.

In order to plan, we ask that you please fill out this survey. Please submit one survey for each of your children enrolled in CH-UH.

Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be delivered each day for students. The full price is $45 a day. However, the program is eligible for a child care subsidy (which more than 80% of district families are eligible to receive) and the Heights Schools Foundation is also offering financial support. We estimate that the cost for most of our families will ultimately be between $0 and $20 per day.

Once we’ve assessed interest in the program and plans are finalized, we will host a virtual meeting to answer questions and explain the details.

The District is also working with Open Doors Academy on a supervision and support program for grades 6-8. A separate survey for middle school will be going out soon.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Sincerely,
Superintendent Liz Kirby
