Board Votes to Keep District in Remote Status Until at Least 1/15
Nov. 11, 2020 -- The CH-UH Board of Education voted to continue the 2020-2021 school year in a remote status until at least January 15, the end of Quarter 2.

The motion was passed during the November 10 regular meeting following a presentation from Superintendent Kirby. The District will continue to offer in-person services to students with low-incidence disabilities, with the option to move remote if their parents/guardians choose to do so.

This comes after the announcement on November 5 that Cuyahoga County remains in a Level 3 status with high incidence in the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. After considering the recommendation from the reopening committees, PTA leaders and Superintendent’s Cabinet to remain in remote learning, Superintendent Kirby decided to recommend to the Board that the District finishes the second quarter remotely, the instructional model currently in place.

Superintendent Kirby said in the meantime, District planning committees will continue to meet to discuss next steps. The committees, which include staff, parents, teachers, and administrators, have been working over the last several weeks to develop draft plans for hybrid learning models.
