Two COVID-19 Cases Reported in District - November 17, 2020
Nov. 17, 2020 -- Today, the District learned of two recent cases of COVID-19 in CH-UH.

This morning, it was reported that a transportation staff member had recently tested positive for the virus. The staff member was last at work on Thursday, November 5. The individual is currently resting at home with mild symptoms. Cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include one school bus, took place early this morning.

This afternoon, we learned a Heights High School student had recently tested positive. The student was last in the Heights High building on Friday, November 13. The individual is currently experiencing no symptoms and is quarantining at home. Cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the student occupied, which include the competition gym, auxiliary gym, locker room, restroom, and weight room, took place today.

We are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of COVID-19 investigation.

If CCBH contacts you as part of a COVID-19 investigation, please cooperate fully to ensure the safety and health of our entire community. It is also important that we show kindness and understanding to those who may be identified as a case of COVID-19 or as a close contact.
Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:

  • Wearing a face mask
  • Social distancing of at least 6 feet
  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water
  • Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available
  • Staying home when you do not feel well
  • Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly
  • Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils
  • Avoiding large gatherings of 10 or more people
