HHS Student Tests Positive For COVID-19
Feb. 3, 2021 -- On Wednesday, February 3, the District learned of a recent confirmed case of COVID-19 in a Heights High student. The student had been learning remotely and had not entered the Heights High School building, but was on the campus on Monday, February 1 and rode a school bus to an athletic competition. Cleaning and disinfecting of the school bus the student rode took place this afternoon.

We are working closely with the Cuyahoga County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of COVID-19 investigation.

If CCBH contacts you as part of a COVID-19 investigation, please cooperate fully to ensure the safety and health of our entire community. It is also important that we show kindness and understanding to those who may be identified as a case of COVID-19 or as a close contact.

Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:

  • Wearing a face maskSocial distancing of at least 6 feet
  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water
  • Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available
  • Staying home when you do not feel well
  • Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly
  • Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils
  • Avoiding large gatherings of 10 or more people
