Registration Info For CH-UH Summer Programs
Apr. 8, 2021 -- In collaboration with community partners and District educators, CH-UH is rolling out exciting, comprehensive, and fun summer programming for students PreK-12.

The purpose of the CH-UH Summer Learning Program is to target critical academic skill building, support the health, wellness, and socialization of students and provide student engagement and enrichment activities. The full-day camp model fosters student academic confidence and independence while providing families an option for consistent, high quality summer learning in preparation for the 21-22 school year.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students have naturally experienced academic regression, and the achievement gap has widened between students of color and white students, as well as students with disabilities and students without. The District’s goal is that by the end of the summer program, 100% of identified students will increase their reading and math levels by one grade based on MAP, or demonstrate proficiency on summer review of critical content.

How to Enroll
Pre-registration opens on April 9 via the links below. Pre-registration does not guarantee enrollment. A District representative will follow up with families who submit pre-registration within 1-2 weeks. At that time, families will receive forms and applications to submit for formal registration.

After a year of remote learning, the CH-UH Tiger Camp will encourage hands-on engagement, fun outdoor activities, and building positive relationships, skills, and routines that foster student readiness and success.

While select students may be required to attend based on academic performance during the 2020-2021 school year, Tiger Camp is open to any CH-UH enrolled student going into grades K-8 this fall. Students and families that are required to participate will be contacted by their school directly.

Students with Disabilities
The purpose of Extended School Year services for students with disabilities is to prevent, or slow, severe skill regression caused by an interruption of special education services during extended periods when school is not in session. ESY services are provided to students where there is evidence of substantial regression and recoupment issues. The IEP team process and IEP team members determine the need for a student to receive ESY services on a case-by-case basis.

Social/Emotional & Health/Wellness Support
Social emotional supports will be made available for all camp participants, and school counselors and social workers will be available through Tiger Camp. The District’s summer meal program will also continue.
