April 9, 2021Dear CH-UH Families,
What a beautiful spring week it’s been! I hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy the record high temperatures and bright blue skies. Our five-day per week model option begins for all K-12 students on Monday. What an exciting time for Tiger Nation. If your student is returning to in-person learning on Monday, please review your
school’s protocol sheet, as some items have been updated in the last couple of weeks to reflect current health guidance. Please contact your child’s school principal if you have any remaining questions. I look forward to welcoming back many of our learners to their brick and mortar schools!
Summer programming pre-registration openIn collaboration with community partners and District educators, CH-UH is rolling out exciting, comprehensive, and fun summer programming for students PreK-12. I’m so proud of this initiative; it is going to be an incredible opportunity for our learners.
The purpose of the CH-UH Summer Learning Program is to target critical academic skill building, support the health, wellness, and socialization of students and provide student engagement and enrichment activities. The full-day camp model fosters student academic confidence and independence while providing families an option for consistent, high quality summer learning in preparation for the 21-22 school year. Heights Family Academy kicks off todaySadly, we haven’t been able to continue our wonderful in-person Heights Family Academies this school year. But thanks to technology, we have moved the event online. Beginning today, Heights Family Academy - The Digital Edition will provide weekly, family-focused resources that will help inspire, empower, and connect to stronger support for students. Every Friday this month, new resources will be available
here on our District website.
State of our Schools April 15This coming Thursday, I will deliver the State of our Schools Address live from the Heights High auditorium. The event will feature remarks from several of our amazing students, as well as performances from student musicians. While this event will be all virtual, I encourage you to watch from the comfort of home on the
District's YouTube channel.
COVID-19 case summary for the week of April 5Since Monday, April 5, we have received reports of 3 staff members and 4 students testing positive for COVID-19. All four students had been learning in the fully remote model and one of the staff members had been working remotely. These cases are reflected on the District’s
case reporting dashboard. The county remains in Level 3 “red” alert level status in the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. The
data released by the Ohio Department of Health on Thursday show that three of the seven indicators are currently met.
When staff and students who have been in District buildings test positive for COVID-19, we send notices to the families whose children attend the affected schools and to the staff members of those schools. We also post the notices on
chuh.org and our District app, available for
Android and
iPhone.
This document contains the process following a staff or student testing positive for COVID-19.
Enjoy your weekend!
Sincerely,
Superintendent Kirby
