Jan. 6, 2022 -- Cleveland Heights High School students participated in the Annual Greater Cleveland Scholastic Art + Writing Competition and Exhibition. Their art pieces were judged and selected from nearly 2,000 entries.

Heights senior Rose Goodluck was awarded both the Silver and Gold Key for her painting and drawing illustration. Senior Grace Pindel was awarded the Gold Key for her expanded project. They will participate in the Scholastic virtual awards ceremony on Saturday, January 15 for their work to be recognized. Both students will move on to compete at the national competition in New York City in the Spring.

Each year, the Cleveland Institute of Art hosts the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition to recognize the creative achievement of 7-12 grade students. The young artists and writers compete for the opportunity to earn cash prizes, medals, and scholarship awards. The competition includes students who are enrolled in public, private, or homeschooled in Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake County schools.
