CH-UH Homecoming Parade Route Extended, September 22
Sept. 14, 2023 -- The 2023 Heights Homecoming Parade is on track to be bigger and better than ever! Sponsored by the newly formed Heights Athletic Boosters and set for Friday, September 22, the parade route has been extended thanks to the construction project at Lee and Meadowbrook. The parade is followed by the football game at 7:00 p.m. against Strongsville, tickets for which must be purchased in advance at https://heightstigers.com/purchase-online-tickets/.

The start of the parade will remain the same, kicking off from Scarborough Road near Fairfax Elementary School at 5pm and heading north through the main business district of Lee Road. But instead of ending on Tullamore as in the past, the parade will continue north, crossing Cedar Road (with police assistance during green lights), and turning onto Washington Boulevard to end at the high school.

The Heights Athletic Boosters will host a Tiger Nation Tailgate in the parking lot near the baseball field, to bridge the time between the end of the parade and the 7:00 p.m. football game. Food and drink will be available for purchase, as marchers and their parents reunite, admire decorated vehicles, and build community. Parking spots will be available for pre-purchase for those who wish to bring their own food.

Spectators are invited to line both Lee Road and Washington Boulevard to cheer on the athletes, singers, marching band, and little Tigers as they wind their way through town. There will be plenty of space for folding chairs and mingling along the route, especially in front of the Lee Road Library and behind the high school football field. The Heights Schools Foundation will host an Alumni Watch Party at The Wine Spot.

Residents should note that Lee Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from Clarendon Road to Washington Boulevard between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.; Scarborough Road will be closed from Stratford to Lee from 4:30 p.m. to 5:10 p.m., and Washington Blvd. will be closed to traffic between Lee and Goodnor from approximately 5:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please share this information with your neighbors and check the city and police department's social media for updates and reminders

All CH-UH schools, PTAs, teams, and clubs are welcome to register and march for free, though elementary and middle school groups must have an adult present throughout. Nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and candidates running for office may also march for a fee of $25. More information, including links to register to march, reserve a spot at the Tailgate, or volunteer can be found at https://www.heightsathleticboosters.org/events.
