May 23, 2023 -- Ms. Rebekah Sharpe has been selected as the new principal of Roxboro Middle School, effective August 1, 2023. The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education approved the hiring of Sharpe at Monday’s Board meeting.

Currently, Sharpe is an assistant principal at Shaker Heights High School. Prior to that, she served as Dean of Students for Shaker Heights Middle School and as a music teacher there. She began her career as a music teacher in Columbus City Schools, where she served as her building’s Teacher Based Team Leader.

“As evidenced by her leadership experiences, Ms. Sharpe is student-focused, forward-thinking, and highly collaborative. We look forward to seeing her lead Roxboro Middle School in its next great chapter,” said Superintendent Elizabeth Kirby.

Sharpe holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Capital University, a master’s degree in music education from Kent State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Cincinnati. Sharpe is a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and attended Coventry, Gearity, and Wiley schools.

“Attending CH-UH Schools for my entire K-12 school career gave me a firm foundation, and remains an integral part of who I am as a person and educator,” said Sharpe. “It has always been a dream of mine to return to the district that made me who I am, and pay it forward to the next generation of students growing up in this district.”

Mrs. Rachael Coleman, current Roxboro Middle School principal, has taken a position with the District as Director of Principal Leadership & Development, beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. Coleman was selected for this position at the end of the 2021-2022 school year but remained in her role at Roxboro Middle School to allow the District time to conduct an intentional, thorough search for the school’s next leader.
