COVID-19 Case Summary - April 20, 2021

Apr. 20, 2021 -- Today, the District received notifications of five in-person students and staff who recently tested positive for COVID-19. Details are below.


Staff cases for April 20, 2021 (Total: 2)

  • 1 employee who works at Canterbury and Oxford elementary schools

    • Last in the Canterbury building on Friday, April 16 and in the Oxford building on Monday, April 19. 

    • Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include the art rooms at both schools and a staff restroom at Oxford, took place early this morning. 

    • No close contacts (staff or students) have been identified.

  • 1 employee at Roxboro Middle School

    • Last in the Rox Mid building on Friday, April 16.

    • Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the staff member occupied, which include the 1st floor, auditorium, lunchroom, and various areas in the kitchen took place this afternoon.

    • No close contacts (staff or students) have been identified.

Student cases for April 20, 2021 (Total: 3)

  • 2 students at Fairfax Elementary School

    • Last in the Fairfax building on Monday, April 19.

    • Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the students occupied, which include several classrooms, the cafeteria, and the gym, took place this afternoon.

    • No close contacts (staff or students) have been identified.

  • 1 student at Roxboro Middle School

    • Last in the Rox Mid building on Wednesday, April 14.

    • Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the spaces the students occupied, which include 2 classrooms, took place this afternoon.

    • No close contacts (staff or students) have been identified.

Spread of COVID-19 is currently happening in our community. This is why it is so important for all students and staff to adhere to the key public health prevention strategies to reduce the chance for transmission of COVID-19, including:

  • Wearing a face mask

  • Social distancing

  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water

  • Hand sanitizing when soap and water are not available

  • Staying home when you do not feel well

  • Disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly

  • Not sharing food, drinks, cups and utensils

  • Avoiding crowds
