Apr. 6, 2022 -- The Heights High Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is seeking high school student panelists for their Create with Kindness: Heights High PTSA Student Panel on TikTok discussion taking place on May 4 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The panel will discuss the themes of digital conversations, responsibility, and safety. Students who would like to be considered for the panel are encouraged to submit the Expression of Interest form. Students selected for the panel will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
Students who are selected for the panel must be free to meet with PTSA leaders in the evening on April 18 to kick off the event with parents and guardians, and on April 27 to prepare for the panel. Students who cannot be available on those dates will not be selected.
The panel will feature at least one student from each grade level to share their general online experience and specific TikTok activity. It will be moderated by Gabe Crenshaw, Heights parent and President of the Heights Library Board. Students are needed at all grade levels to speak on the following:· Discussing online safety and how students use online platforms to spread kindness.
· Exploring TikTok’s parental controls.
· Learning how to initiate interactive family conversations about online experiences, behaviors, and expectations.
