July 12, 2023 -- At the monthly regular Board of Education meeting on July 11, students and staff were recognized for recent accomplishments, and the Board approved an MOU for an HR-related partnership between the District and Jackson Public Schools.

Meeting Overview
- The Board approved a memorandum of understanding between CH-UH Schools and Jackson Public Schools. CH-UH will work with JPS to submit a federal grant application to fund creation of a multi-district Networked Improvement Community. This project will include job-embedded professional development, leadership academies, instructional leadership teams, human capital management systems, instructional coaching, and performance-based compensation.
- Superintendent Kirby shared updates on the past month’s work within the five goals of the District’s Strategic Plan.
- Chief Financial Officer Scott Gainer delivered his “3 Things” report, a monthly initiative to educate stakeholders on school funding. The 3 Things for July were:
- Temporary Appropriations
- Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR)
- Excess Cost Reimbursement
- Chief Financial Officer Scott Gainer presented an overview of the District’s expected state funding as a result of the recently passed budget bill.
