Oct. 16, 2023 -- The CH-UH City School District is now accepting applications for the Music Program Root Cause Analysis Committee. Students, families, staff, and community members are welcome to apply.

MISSION: Through a Root Cause Analysis, identify issues within the district’s control that are contributing to the decline in the participation of students in music at various levels; to include the identification of proposed solutions and next steps resulting in the sustained growth of the district’s various music related programs.

CREATION: The creation of the Root Cause Analysis Committee shall include CH-UH partners (administrators, educators, community members, parents/guardians, and students), and will be based on an application process for community members and parents/guardians. Administrator, educator and student committee members will be selected by the Superintendent and or the Superintendent’s designee.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The CH-UH City School District and the Board of Education believe family engagement and two-way communication are essential to improving district decisions and outcomes for students. The Root Cause Analysis Committee will identify issues within the district’s control that are contributing to the decline in the participation of students in music at various levels; to include the identification of next steps resulting in the sustained growth of the district’s various music related programs. The Root Cause Analysis Committee will develop a Music Root Cause Analysis Summary Report containing the findings of the Root Cause Analysis and proposed solutions and next steps for submission to the CH-UH Board of Education.

DURATION: The Root Cause Analysis Committee will meet approximately 3-4 times in the fall of 2023.

MEMBERSHIP: The District is seeking Root Cause Analysis Committee Members with varied skills, experiences, expertise, ideas, opinions, insight, and perspectives on ways to increase the participation of students in the various CH-UH music related programs. Members should bring an open mind, a passion for student learning, and a willingness to engage in inquiry, meaningful dialogue, and collaboration throughout the Root Cause Analysis process.
