April 26, 2016 -- Students in the Clinical Health Careers (CHC) class held a “Senior to Senior Prom” with residents at the Gardens of McGregor Nursing Home on April 19.
A DJ spun the tunes, both old and new, residents and students danced and shared refreshments, and a “Senior King and Queen” were crowned.
Students did a quick change of clothes before and after the prom in order to also transport all the residents to and from the party.
McGregor has been a community partner with the CHC program for over 15 years. American Commodore Tuxedo provided the free tux rentals.
Some comments from the residents:
- “That was really fun. We should do it again sometime!”
- “I haven’t been asked to dance in 50 years! But I guess I can!”
- “Oh, I couldn’t dance!” Ten minutes later she was out on the floor dancing.
