Students Serve & Learn with Chamber of Commerce

May 23, 2016 -- The May 12 Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce, HRCC, Business Expo provided 17 Heights High students with a service and learning opportunity.

At the event, students greeted attendees and help direct them to resources. Like their adults in attendance, they used the event to meet new people and enlarge their network to include contacts for possible internships, shadowing and employment.

The annual HRCC Business Expo included 100 local business who are members of the HRCC and hosted tables to reach out to other members.

The event was held at the 700 Beta Banquet and Conference Center in Mayfield Village.

The HRCC area includes the communities of Cleveland Heights, University Heights, South Euclid, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights and Shaker Heights. The business members include large multinational companies and small companies owned by local entrepreneurs.

CH-UH Program Specialist for Business & Community Partnerships Desiree Caliguire-Maier coordinated the student visit. Options Center teacher April White helped organize the visit as well.
