For kids
LAF: Make Your Own Magic Tricks
Wednesday, May 2, 3:30 p.m. at the Lee Road branch, 2345 Lee Road
Abracadabra and alakazam! Come join us and create tricks sure to dazzle and mystify all.
Free Comic Book Day
Saturday, May 5, 2 p.m. at the Lee Road branch, 2345 Lee Road
This year we will celebrate our “Lucky Number 7th” Annual Free Comic Book Day by playing variety of games, activities, and crafts. Come in super hero gear, costume or t-shirt to show off your favorite heroes. And of course, be sure to get your FREE COMICS! For kids ages 3 to 12.
Mad Science STEM Night

Want to learn how to design and build cool contraptions? Join us the first Monday of the springtime months as we harness our inner mad scientists and make science fun!
Nature Tracks: Forest Habitats
Thursday, May 17, 6:30 p.m. at the University Heights branch, 13866 Cedar Road
The Metro Parks' NatureTracks program will be visiting the University Heights branch to teach kids in grades K-5 all about forest habitats. Join us for this fun, informative, and interactive program.

Windowsill Gardening
Thursdays, May 3-31, 4 p.m. at the Noble branch, 2800 Noble Road
The teen room has big sunny windows, and we will try to make them even more beautiful! We will plant and grow both pretty and tasty things.
May the Fourth Be with You Party
Friday, May 4, 3 p.m. at the University Heights branch, 13866 Cedar Road
A long time ago in a library not so far away, teens and tweens gathered to watch and celebrate the most beloved Sci-Fi series of all time. Join us for an interactive screening of the newest Star Wars film complete with trivia, prizes, props and food.
Bike Maintenance for Teens
Mondays, May 7, 14, & 21, 4 p.m. at the Lee Road Branch, 2345 Lee Road
Learn bike maintenance basics from Two One Fix! Participants will experience hands-on learning as they take apart and put together some of the bicycle’s major mechanical systems. Hip Hop Summer Camp Sampler
Thursday, May 24, 3 p.m. at the Lee Road Branch, 2345 Lee Road
Are you a hip-hop fanatic? Join us in the Teen Room to sample the four elements of hip-hop culture – DJing, MCing, Graffiti Art, and Breaking, and to sign up for in-depth workshops which will take place later this summer.
