Jan. 28, 2020 -- The Heights Coalition for Public Education will host School Funding in Ohio: The Possibilities and Challenges of Creating a Solution on February 10 at Heights High. The event will begin at 7 p.m.
School funding in Ohio has been deemed unconstitutional for more than 20 years. Ohio Equity and Adequacy Director Bill Phillis will provide the historical background to this issue. Ohio Rep. John Patterson will give updates on possible solutions and what can be done do to advocate for change.
Co-sponsors of the event are the CH-UH Board of Education, the CH-UH PTA Council, the Cleveland Heights Teachers Union, Reaching Heights, the League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio Friends of Public Education.
