Feedback Needed on Math Class Curriculum Materials

December 5, 2023

Dear CH-UH Families,

You are invited to provide feedback on the K-12 Mathematics curricular materials that we are reviewing this school year.

To ensure that we have high-quality instructional materials in every classroom, the CH-UH City School District reviews and adopts new textbooks and materials on a 6-10 year cycle. During the 2023-2024 academic year, our focus is on the K-12 Mathematics curricular materials.

During the first semester of the school year, secondary classrooms are piloting new math materials, while elementary teachers and students are piloting during the second quarter. Each teacher received training in advance of this pilot and attends ongoing professional learning throughout this time period. As new resources are implemented in our pilot classrooms, our Instructional Leadership team has been gathering feedback and data from educators and students to evaluate the effectiveness of the materials.

From December 5-19, samples of the pilot math curricular materials will be available for public review in the Children's Room of the Lee Road Branch of the Heights Library and informational flyers will be available at all other library branches. Access the survey here to share your thoughts after exploring them.

The recommendation for a new Math program will be presented to the Board of Education later this school year.

Thank you for your support of this important work.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Jenkins
Director of Curriculum and Instruction
